The two-year Master of Arts in Community and Youth Work from Maynooth University provides students with an in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of youth work. The program emphasizes the importance of developing students’ capacity to work with young people from all backgrounds, and prepares them for a range of roles within the youth sector, such as youth worker, outreach worker, project coordinator, or manager. The program includes courses on group dynamics, communication skills, community development and activism, as well as a mandatory research project that allows students to gain hands-on experience through fieldwork. Graduates will have the necessary skills to facilitate positive change in their communities by providing effective interventions that meet the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. With a strong focus on social justice and advocacy, this program is ideal for those interested in making a difference in their community.
