Ancient History and Archaeology (JH) BA Hons

The Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History and Archaeology (JH) at Trinity College Dublin is a 4-year program that provides students with an in-depth understanding of the history and archaeology of ancient societies. This degree combines coursework from both disciplines, with courses such as Ancient Greek & Roman History, Classical Archaeology, and Egyptian & Near Eastern Archaeology. In addition to gaining an academic education in ancient history & archaeology, students will also have the opportunity to participate in field trips and archaeological excavations, allowing them to gain first-hand experience of archaeological work. Graduates from this program possess the knowledge and skills to pursue careers in academia or industry related fields such as museum curatorship; cultural heritage management; or teaching. The degree also provides a strong foundation for those wishing to pursue further studies leading towards advanced degrees such as Master’s or Doctoral programs, allowing them the chance to become experts within their chosen field while making meaningful contributions towards preserving our shared cultural heritage.
