Creative Writing (MA)

The Master of Arts in Creative Writing at University College Cork is an intensive one-year program designed to explore and develop the potential of each student’s writing. This program provides a unique opportunity to hone creative writing skills, develop critical thinking, and understand the fundamentals of literary craft. Through coursework and workshops, students will be exposed to a range of genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and scriptwriting. In addition to gaining a deep understanding of the craft of writing, students will also have the opportunity to work with practicing writers in the local community. Throughout their studies, students will receive constructive feedback on their work from experienced mentors and instructors who are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential as writers. Graduates from this program will be well-prepared for successful careers in publishing or teaching as well as for further studies in related fields such as literature or media production.
