History (MA)

The Master of Arts in History program at University College Cork is a one-year interdisciplinary program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the history, culture and politics of the past. The program features an engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics such as social, political and economic history; national and international relations; philosophy, art and literature; as well as digital history. Students will also have the opportunity to specialize by selecting courses from one or more academic fields. Graduates from this program will gain an extensive knowledge base of current and historical events, enabling them to pursue careers in journalism, museums, archives or educational institutions. They may also pursue further studies leading towards advanced degrees such as Doctoral programs, allowing them to become experts within their chosen field while making meaningful contributions towards preserving our shared human heritage.
