The 1-year Master of Science in Older Person Rehabilitation program at University College Cork is an interdisciplinary program that provides an evidence-based approach to the care and rehabilitation of older adults. The program equips students with the skills and knowledge to support the physical, cognitive, psychosocial and spiritual needs of older persons through a combination of theoretical and practical learning. The curriculum includes coursework across multiple disciplines such as gerontology, health promotion, exercise physiology, psychology, nutrition, public health and clinical nursing. Throughout their studies, students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in some of Ireland’s leading healthcare facilities while also taking part in research projects or work placements. Graduates from this program will be well-equipped for careers in geriatric or rehabilitation services working to improve the quality of life for older persons.
