Linguistics & Applied Linguistics MA

The Master of Arts in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at University College Dublin is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary program that provides students with a deep understanding of the structures and functions of language, as well as its implications for society. This 1-year program focuses on the study of linguistics from both theoretical and applied perspectives, exploring topics such as phonology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Students will also gain hands-on experience through research projects, working with data from many different language varieties, providing them with an opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world problems. Graduates from this program will be well-prepared for careers in education, media & communications, or linguistic consulting services.
