Industrial Biochemistry BSc

The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Biochemistry at the University of Limerick is a four-year interdisciplinary program that combines the principles of biochemistry, engineering, and biology to develop solutions for industrial challenges. The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of industrial biochemistry fundamentals such as biomolecular engineering, metabolic pathways and regulation, and enzyme technology. During their studies, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge through hands-on lab work, working on projects related to drug discovery and development or production processes for biofuels. Graduates from this program will be well prepared for careers in research laboratories or industry settings working on projects ranging from fermentation process optimization to bioprocess design. They will also have the skills necessary to pursue further studies leading towards advanced degrees such as Master's or Doctoral programs in Industrial Biochemistry or other related fields like Chemical Engineering allowing them to become experts within their chosen field while making meaningful contributions towards sustainable development.
